Making A Difference- Caring About Animals

HFJS School Council would like to thank everybody for their support in helping to raise money for the Guide Dog Association. After organising a raffle and a 'Guess the Name of the Dog' competition HFJS raised £182.71

On 31st March, we were joined by Polly and Anne (and their two dogs Una and Harrison) who spoke to us about this incredible charity. Polly explained how her dog has made such a difference, “Una has given me my confidence and my life back. She is so precious because she is my eyes and lets me live life to the full.”

It was fantastic to see how the money that we have raised will go towards the £56,000 that is costs to provide a sight impaired person with their own guide dog. Thank you once again, from the School Council.

HFJS Making a Difference February 2022:

This half term our School Council are challenging everybody to make a difference by supporting our school community and our lovely Holt Farm Hens.

This year the School Council decided to promote 'Helping Hands in Rochford' so that parcels could once again be delivered to elderly and vulnerable people in our community (see photographs and our write up on the School Council page). We have also supported a number of other charities (both national and local) in order to 'Make a Difference'. This included: Children In Need, The British Hen Trust, Save the Children, Sports Relief and Lily's Pound Warriors. Another fundraising initiative involved lots of fun activities and events to raise money to buy much needed books for our school library too.
