Curriculum PE

Real PE

At Holt Farm, children have two lessons per week, one delivered by class teachers and one Fridays where all children have specialist coaches and teachers and do 3 or 4 weeks of each activity. We follow a approach called Real PE developed by Create Development, its a unique, child-centred approach that transforms how PE is taught engaging and challenging EVERY child. On Fridays children experience a variety of sports specific activities where they apply the skills learnt through Real PE in activities such as netball, basketball, hockey, dance, gym, fitness athletics and swimming, our aim is to give the children to develop skills through a wide range of activities preparing them for future participation in sport and PE at secondary school whilst developing the skills that will enable them to be healthy and active.
